Apple iPhone 4

The Apple iPhone 4 is now officially available in India. Aircel is already offering the iPhone 4 with 100% money back scheme. The iPhone 4 is much lighter, faster and comes with a high resolution screen. If you compare with the iPhone predecessors, iPhone 4 is way ahead.

It nearly took about a year for the iPhone 4 to officially enter the Indian markets. When the iPhone 4 was first launched there were a host of problems like the famous signal bar dropping off etc., followed by controversies on how one should hold the iPhone 4 to avoid signal loss. Hopefully Indian users will not face those issues. Anyway it doesn’t matter how you hold the iPhone 4 in India, you will still see dropping signal thanks to the quality provided by Indian service provider.

Apple iPhone 4 features

The front camera can be used both for self portraits and for video chat. The iPhone 4 comes loaded with FaceTime app for video calling. This works right out of the box and you can start video calling almost immediately(requires 3G). With FaceTime during a video call, you can make use of both the cameras, with a single tap you can switch front or rear cameras.

Another noticeable improvement is the Retina display. The display quality is high resolution and with 4x the pixel count as compared with what the iPhone predecessors had. In simple words the display quality is so fine that the images are crystal clear and crisp, no matter how hard you try you will not be able to see any pixels (dots) on the screen.

With iPhone 4 multitasking you can run multiple apps including third party apps and switch between them with ease. The iPhone 4 supports 2G and 3G networks and weighs just 137g. The 3.5 inch LED back-lit IPS TFT screen with capacitive touchscreen supports 16M colours on 640 x 960 pixel resolution.

The iPhone 4 houses Accelerometer sensor used for gesture control. There is also a 3-axis gyro sensor that can detect rotation and can automatically changes the screen orientation depending on how the phone is held and Proximity sensor that can auto switch off the screen when phone is placed near to any object for example your face when making a call.
Apple iPhone 4 review (India)

iPhone 4 comes with 512 RAM and 16/32 GB of storage. The iPhone 4 is powered by 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor (Apple A4 chipset) and the iOS 4 operating system. Thousands of iPhone applications can be download from the Apple Store. Many iPhone owners have jailbroken their iPhone 4 which opens the door to many facilities that are initially blocked by default. Jailbreaking is legal, however doing so may void the iPhone 4 warranty.

Other features of iPhone 4 are Wi-Fi, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack, TV-Out, build in loudspeaker, GPS and Safari HTML browser.

The iPhone 4 does not have a Radio and there are no additional card slots. The phone also supports MicroSIM cards only.

iPhone 4 comes with the Li-Po 1420mAh battery which can play continuous music for almost 40 hours and last in standby mode up to 300 hours and gives a talk time of 7 hours on 3G network and up to 14 hours on 2G network.

iPhone 4 Price in India Rs. 34,500 for 16GB version and Rs. 40,900 for 32GB version.
Never miss a photo opportunity. The 5-megapixel camera built into iPhone 4 — with optional HDR setting — captures amazingly detailed images. A built-in LED flash illuminates low-light scenes. And the 5x digital zoom gets you closer to the action. You can even shoot self-portraits with the front camera.
HDR photography.
Now you can take great photos that capture a wider range of light intensity using the new high dynamic range (HDR) setting. After selecting HDR, just point iPhone 4 at your subject and shoot. iPhone 4 automatically captures three photos of the scene — each with different exposure levels. Then iPhone 4 layers the shots together to create a single photo that combines the best elements of each shot and more accurately represents the wide range of light in the scene. Both the regular shot and the HDR photo appear in the Camera Roll.

At a candlelit dinner, on the beach at night, or wherever the light’s not bright, you can still get great shots with iPhone 4. The advanced backside illumination sensor allows you to shoot low-light photos that are brighter and clearer than ever before. And iPhone 4 now includes a built-in LED flash that automatically fires when it’s needed.
Self-portraits made simple.
Want to take a picture of yourself? The new VGA-quality front camera on iPhone 4 makes it easy. No need to flip your iPhone around to guess where you are in the frame. Instead, just activate the front camera with a tap, check your image on the display, and shoot.

Tap to focus.

Autofocus keeps things sharp and the macro lens takes great close-ups. But you can also tap the iPhone display to focus on anything in the picture — a face in the background, for example — before you take the photo. Focusing also adjusts exposure and white balance automatically, so you get the best-quality photo possible.

Share your photos.

Send photos via email or MMS from the Camera app. Every photo you take is geotagged with information about your location, which you can save to your computer and share with iPhoto, Aperture, Flickr, and other compatible applications and services.
